Safari Camps come in 4 versions
Classic Mobile Tented Camps, Luxury Mobile Tented Camps, Permanent Tented Camps and
Permanent Game Lodges

Here at Unique Safaris we specialize in the Classic and Luxury Mobile Tented Camps, and like many other safari companies, we contract with the owners of Permanent Tented Camps and Game Lodges as needed. Our thinking is that we bring you the best of Africa in our mobile camps. We move with the game and the different seasons to give you the best experience possible.

Our Luxury Tented Mobile Camps are as good as it can get while camping out in one of our wilderness areas or parks. Our tents are all made of heavy-duty canvas with zippered windows and netting all around for ventilation. The tents are eight feet wide by twenty four feet long, and seven and a half feet high. They have a private bathroom and shower area attached to the rear of the tent, allowing you to access them without going outside.

Camping out in our wilderness parks in a tent, doing game drives starting right at your camp, sitting around an evening campfire, hearing the sounds of the wildlife, having gourmet meals served when you wish, and having your own personal driver/naturalist is how we share an African Safari dream with you.

Our tented camps bring you into Africa 24/7. You experience what East Africa is all about-- of being out in the bush, as they say. Every place you turn you have another experience-new sights, sounds, views and adventures. Each day is different with something exciting happening.

Most visitors coming to Africa for the first time have some anxiety about camping out in an unknown area. But once you get initiated you fall in love with it, and you usually want to spend the rest of your time in similar camps.

Permanent Tent Camp

Inside the tent is hand-made wooden furniture including seven-foot long beds with full mattresses. You may choose twin beds or a double bed. There are fresh linens on the beds daily and towels are provided as well. For those cooler evenings, a hot water bottle is a warm surprise when you get into bed. Other amenities include a nightstand by each bed, a clothes rack, a dressing and washing area toward the rear of the tent, solar lighting in the evening, flashlight, mirrors, umbrellas, wash basins, soap, chairs on your veranda with individual tables, fresh flowers daily and one bottle of water per person in your tent.

Our Classic Mobile Tented Camps have all the essentials in comfort and services but they are more modest than our Luxury Camps, and therefore have a lower cost. The tents are smaller (8"x8') and 6 1/2' tall. There is a separate toilet and shower located behind the tent and you must go outside to use the facilities.

Permanent Game Lodges are located in the Tarengiri, the Ngorongoro Crater and in the Serengeti. They offer you the luxury you would find at a resort in the U.S., New Zealand or Fiji. They have all the services to support comfortable guest rooms with full bathrooms, diverse menu selections, full beverage services, and often very interesting architecture.

Permanent Tent Camps are convenient to use in more remote parks. They offer a level of facilities between our mobile camps and permanent game lodges.
