Mt. Kilimanjaro trips all start from Arusha, since the mountain is close by. Actually, the airport you land at is called the Mt. Kilimanjaro airport, which is one of our two major airports in our country.
After spending a night in Arusha you can depart immediately for your climb, or you can spend your first day visiting a nearby park and get over your jet lag.
You must remember to bring warm clothing and good hiking boots for the climb. It will be windy at times and you will be climbing in snow your last day. It goes without saying but you also need good sun screen and a warm hat with a large brim to reduce your sun glare.
We arrange climbs of Mt. Kilimanjaro for individuals, families, or groups.
Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro is not a technical climb but it necessitates several days of steady trekking as you ascend the mountain. You stay in full service camps until your last night, which is a shelter hut. It is very adequate but your night is very short there, as you leave between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. for the final ascent so you arrive at the peak at sunrise.
You should plan 4 to 6 days for this trip. Visitors often combine this with a visit to one or more of our game parks to round out their visit to our country.
