And Ruaha is one of the few places in East Africa where some of the rarer species, like the sable antelope, can be seen

The Ruaha is a little known, but wild and beautiful, National Park in southern Tanzania. With relatively few visitors, the Ruaha has the same feeling of timelessness as the Selous. Many of our clients put both the Selous and Ruaha on their safari itinerary when we plan a safari to the more remote southern area of Tanzania.

Only a few safari companies offer trips into the southern area because of the long distances and the more remote rugged terrain. We take pride in having heavy duty lorries that can travel these distances and a staff that are experts in the southern parks.

We will set up your Ruaha camp in advance and, either you drive up from the Selous or we we will arrange for you to fly down from Arusha.

Because of the remoteness of this area a safari here is a more exciting and challenging adventure. This area is most appreciated by those making a second visit to Tanzania on a safari, or for those that have taken previous challenging trips elsewhere, and are ready for another great adventure.

Planning a Southern circuit safari

A safari to the south is an excellent itinerary for a second trip to Tanzania, or for a group that has already taken adventure trips elsewhere. This is a more rugged isolated safari area than the northern parks of our country, and is a fun trip for those looking for more adventure.

There are a couple of ways to plan a trip south. You can fly directly into Dar es Salaam and you could visit the huge Selous and Ruaha parks, before flying back to Arusha.

A second option is to visit some of the northern parks first and then we could arrange to fly you south to the Ruaha for several days.

Either of these options become an outstanding 10-18 day safari trip.

Roan antelope are found in the Ruaha, one of the rares species of antelope in east Africa. In addition, greater kudu are also common in the park
